Wooden bridge in town of Newry, a few miles north of Bethel, measures 87 feet in length and spans the Sunday River. Built in 1872, the structure was closed to vehicular traffic in 1958. It is known as the Artists Bridge for its reputation as the most-photographed, most-painted covered bridge in the entire state. Only 10 remain.[UFP100312]
