This frame and next, a man-made (and man-controlled) waterfall in downtown Rumford, birthplace of Edmund Muskie (1914-1996), who before election to the U.S. Senate in 1959, served as governor of Maine for four years. He was running mate to George McGovern in the 1972 presidential race. The adjacent public park is dedicated in his memory. [UFP100212]
